About Us
Bright Stars Early Learning Centre and After-care was established in January 2015, by the Founder and Chairperson, Mrs Nthabiseng Karabo Masondo, after the realization that the education received by a majority of children in most township crèches or day-care centres was substandard and in most cases, not in the best interest of the children. Together with her amazing team of 7 wonderful ladies, they have created a haven which provides a safe and nurturing environment. Bright Stars children feel comfortable, have a feeling of safety while gaining confidence through exploration and discovery.
We believe Children are capable of learning more in the first six years of their lives than at any other time. At Bright Stars Early Learning Centre, we strive to take advantage of this absorbent stage and develop the children so that they grow up confidently knowing that they are not inferior.
Our Story
More than twenty-five years into democracy, the majority of young children in South Africa are still negatively impacted by a range of social and economic inequalities which have created a childhood of adversity for most African children including inadequate access to education, social services and quality nutrition to mention a few. This has and continues to undermine the development of our youngest children.
Bright Stars Early Learning Centre and After-care is a non-profit Early Childhood Development Centre which caters for children between the age’s 6months to 6 years (Grade R) and we concentrate on all aspects of the child’s well being. Our teachers are qualified and offer an all rounded education. We are open from Monday to Friday (with the exception of public holidays) from 06:15 till 17:50. We offer 4 meals daily, Our two-weekly seasoned menu incorporates appropriate portions of all food groups in balanced died and is certified by the Nutrition Department under the Department of Health.
